The Snail

I had an idea to design a torsion spring large enough to hold the weight of an adult. Instead of one giant spring I ended up with four slightly less gigantic ones. The seat has some nice bounce to it loaded with 200 pounds and is rated to 500 pounds. It looks a whole lot like a snail and sitting on it reminds me of riding tractors in Texas as a kid, hence the John Deere colors.
